Gunner Grimshaws next diary entry is on the 24th July 1917. In the meantime I have posted a photo of him and a selection of his tunic buttons.
I'm a gunner and dispatch rider serving in the Royal Garrison Artillery.

Huh, seems strange to unexpectedly put a face to the name and the diary. I also didn’t realise that tunic buttons were artefacts that families would keep, but seeing that they’re custom buttons makes sense.

Yes I have about 10 brass tunic buttons with the Royal Garrison Artillery cannon on them that were kept in a cigar box.
